Which sources are best for wedding planning? The Internet by far is the best source and while websites like wedding wire.com offer a wealth of information there are many others that will pop up when searching with key words. Focus your search by using the Advance search function and use specific words that relate to your situation.
What is your video style/approach―cinematic or documentary? It can be either documentary or cinematic, or a combination of both - most of all it will be an artistic documentation of your day as we will try to capture those once in a lifetime moments. We will discuss how your day will unfold and how it will be documented. Anything or anyone specific you want us to capture can be noted.
What type of coverage do you offer? The total hours of coverage vary by wedding this is why each package is unique. Usually though shooting can take anywhere from 4-12 hours. We offer a nice variety of options for you to choose from so you can decide on the one that works best for your wedding’s schedule, style, and budget. Once you select the package, the coverage will be detailed in the contract.
What video format do you use? We shoot High Definition DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex). This option gives an amazing filmic look. We use top of the line professional cameras and special lenses that enable us to film in low light with no external lighting (in most cases) and when we do use external lighting it's minimal and unobtrusive. If you like the Super 8 (eight-millimeter) film, or other film looks we can achieve this in post production during the editing phase giving you the same nostalgic, vintage effect as Super 8.
What about audio (sound) how will that be handled? We use an on board microphone that sits on the video cameras and also use additional external wireless digital recorders that will be placed on the officiant and/or the groom. This wireless lavaliere mic (which will be hidden) will enable us to capture the vows and the rest of the ceremony. This is highly recommended especially in churches or in outdoor ceremony. During the wedding we try to coordinate with the band to hook up our digital recorder to the band's mixing board so you will have the wedding night fully recorded. How many other weddings will you be shooting on my wedding day? We don't double booked on the same day ever. We reserve your day only for you.
Will you coordinate with my photographer? Absolutely! It's part of our job to do so and we encourage you to share your photography shot list with us as well as any other schedules of the day. We also coordinate with the photographers a few minutes before the ceremony, to collaborate on the video and photography coverage.
What is your editing process? If you go for a package that includes only raw footage coverage with no movie edit then we try to combine in-camera editing technique as much as possible during the coverage so you have the least amount of jerks and camera movements. But this is not always possible especially during the ceremony which is recoded continuos and sometimes the camera person needs to move from one spot to another. If you opt for a package that includes a wedding video that will be edited it will be professionally done in postproduction, removing any camera shakes, transitions from one moment to another will be included as well as color correction and effects. A DVD of the final film will be delivered.
